Aimee-Leigh has always loved creating and illustrating. She grew up in Whangārei, Northland, and now calls Mount Maunganui home. Her inspiration comes from the outdoors and a lifelong love of exploring new places. Most of her work features landscapes from across Aotearoa, capturing the beauty and feeling of the places she visits.

Her art journey began while studying in Dunedin. In her final year of university, she was living in a student flat and needed a creative outlet. She started drawing again and shared her pieces on Instagram. Friends began asking if they could buy her work, and things took off from there.

Since then, she has created landscape pieces from all over New Zealand and other parts of the world. She has sold her work at local markets, been published in a magazine and now has her art stocked in a retail store.

Out of this journey, Aimee-Leigh Designs (AL Designs) was born. It’s the name she now creates and sells her work under offering prints, original pieces, and more. Through AL Designs, Aimee-Leigh hopes to help others connect with the places they love, through art that tells a story.
