Hot Water Beach is a well-known surf break on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. The beach faces into the Pacific Ocean, with shifting sandbanks that create long, peeling waves when the conditions align. Surrounded by rugged coastline and wide open ocean, it has become a favourite spot for surfers and beachgoers alike.
This series traces the shape of New Zealand’s coastline at well-known surf breaks through clean, minimal linework. Each piece reflects the form of the coast and its surrounding landscape.
